Distance Learning

Cedar Rapids Main Campus

Classes offer students the flexibility to learn outside the traditional classroom. Most courses start on specific dates in August, September, January, February or May and meet for 16 weeks or 12 weeks. Other variable date and flexible delivery courses can be found on the distance learning website or in MyHub. A qualified teacher is available to answer questions, respond to assignments, and grade exams, and designs each course. Courses are offered in an online format and many will have weekly assignments. All courses meet the goals and objectives of the same courses offered in the traditional classroom and transfer to other institutions in the same way.

Distance Learning courses are delivered online, which provides an enriching and engaging environment for learning. There are a variety of resources available to help students succeed online, including a student help desk and online tutoring.

Kirkwood Community College has been approved by Iowa to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.
