A.A.S. Degree Requirements

To receive an Associate of Applied Science degree, the following requirements must be completed:

  • Earn 62-86 semester hours of credit in the courses required for the specific program.
  • Complete at least 16 credit hours or 25% of the credits, whichever is larger, from Kirkwood Community College in their program of study. 
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 semester credit hours of coursework in the following basic learning core:
    Core Requirement Number of Courses
    Communication 2 courses
    Humanities 1 course
    Social Science 1 course
    Mathematics/Science 1 course
